Track III: Sharing Christ Naturally

God’s plan is to reach people through people.  We are like links in a chain with each spiritual generation serving as a link to the next.   Jesus trained a few very ordinary men to reach their world with the Gospel.  He said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men”, (Matthew 4:19, NASB).  These men (and the women with them) turned their world upside down.   They launched a world changing movement without the aid of technology, political clout or social status.  They simply did it one person at a time.

In His Heart we are using the rose as a symbol of God’s heart of love for people.  Of course, our Heavenly Father’s love goes far beyond any form of human love; it is the ultimate love as demonstrated in the giving of his own Son to die on the cross in our place.  This HIGHQUEST unit is about the loving heart God has for people and our responsibility to share that love with others.  That is our challenge:  to give the gift of “roses” to those around us, including those who are ungrateful and unworthy.

His Commission is designed to equip women to be spiritual mentors:  women who come alongside other women while on their life journey for the specific purpose of sharing God's Word and applying biblical principles to life.  This unit is about how to have a lasting spiritual impact on women who are in our network of relationships.

Jesus commanded the disciples to ow only be witnesses to the world but to make disciples:  to mentor others so that they can know and obey Christ.  As Christians we are also commanded to make disciples, but we often feel overwhelmed and totally inadequate.  However, with a little help anyone who is a follower of Christ can mentor others.

The principles given in this book can be applied to any mentoring situation.   Based don many years of experience in making disciples, His Commission is full of practical and doable guidelines for mentoring.  However, it specifically teaches how to us Beginning the Walk and the Women of Distinction series.  The assumption is made that participants have done at least some of the HighQuest series and are familiar with the series.
